Creation & the Birth of All Things
Summary
At the dawn of time, before mortal minds could measure it, there were four Spheres: Light, Order, Dark, and Chaos. These Spheres were represented by the primary gods Ilos, Korion, Thuses, and Raxas respectively. At first, they drifted in the void with Ilos in opposition to Thuses and Korion in opposition to Raxas. However, they could not avoid the intersection of their domains, and from this cosmic tension emerged the Elemental Chaos. This created chaos, with the earth cracking and roiling against the superheated cyclones and whirlpools of water, and all being pulled in different directions by the wind. From this turmoil, the Primordials of the four elements emerged.
These elementals were the first and most powerful of their kind, and more elementals followed as creation began within the Elemental Chaos. These elementals were driven to perform as their element, consuming all in fire, burying all in earth, drowning all in water, and tearing all apart with wind. Despite the gods' love for creation, everything they made was torn apart in the frenzy of the Elemental Chaos. To contain and better conduct their works, each of the four primary gods called forth a new god, forged from the elements they would hold dominion over.
Ilos gave air, as the breath of life, to Uvia. Korion gave earth, on which life walks and the dead return, to Garagnos. Raxas gave fire, chaotic and all-consuming, to Citeus. Thuses gave water, the depths of which no light can reach, to Dephinna. Each god took their place, pushing their elements onto their backs, holding back the torrent of the elements from Caanae. The elements coalesced into the Elemental Planes, and within them, creation continued.
More and more different elementals formed in these planes, including sapient elementals. With the Elemental Planes held at bay by their respective gods, Raxas pulled Taeora, the weaver of the Ley Lines, from the void. The Ethereal was born as a result of the Magic Taeora performed, through which the gods could access the forge of creation that is the Elemental Chaos. Through this access, they would continue to form the world of Caanae.
