History

Hermi has always been the capital of Kahosh, even in the days of the Old Kingdom. Now however, the ruins of that ancient kingdom rest hand in hand with the current residents. The old palace of kings and queens was converted into the Great Library at Hermi and the massive hippodrome transformed into the Yom Assembly. Such things are common to find here, old and ancient places being repurposed for the current needs. As the society values learning and education these places are not forgotten, they are recorded and placed in the Great Library, but they are not preserved physically. No one would openly wish to be reminded of the cruelty of the Old Kingdom, or the Queen of Serpents. This though is why it has become known as the City of Ghosts, as so many remnants of the old ways remain and leave a sense of being surrounded by the ghosts of the past.
