Oak's End

The town of Oak's End served as a site of respite from travelling between the distant settlements to the north, south and west and was constructed with this in mind, offering suitable lodgings and more than a couple taverns.   Built along the lands and named after the old settlement of the Oak Seer tribe, Oak's End was constructed during the great expansion of the kingdom in the Age of Unification situated in the Splinterwood region of Avellonis where it was set up as a dedicated resting point between settlements, And as such has developed into a thriving and busy community of travellers and pilgrims.

Demographics

Though the village itself receives many visitors regularly from travellers passing by, It's actual population is quite low with only a few homes that make up the bulk of it's accomodation, A single tavern called "The Old Sapling" is all travellers have in ways of sleep for the night which only has 10 bedrooms for rent. Like the rest of Avellonis the village's population mainly consists of humans wherein some elves and dwarves from the nearby realms would prefer to take lodging within the nearby cities of Mir'Dan and Magmalum respectively.

Government

Like the other villages in the Kingdom of Rainegate this small settlement is owned by a mayor who oversees all going-ons and workings within their walls, He reports to the Lord of the land - This one being the lord of Splinterwood who currently resides in his Deepglen manor house.   The standard way of living is enforced as the civilians are encouraged to follow rules and laws handed down by the capital, Guards are a prominent prescence as tales of thieves have sprung due to the overwhelming amount of travellers that the village receives - Although they aren't known to shy away from bribes and other misanthropic deeds.

Infrastructure

Though Oak End has it's own farms along the borders, The dense canopies make it difficult for windmills to operate properly as such they have relied mostly on travellers and traders to bring processed goods from the nearby settlements. Roads are constantly under maintenance due to the high amount of foot traffic it receives - It was one of the first to adopt the stone road system that was first introduced in Rainegate.
