Rainegate
Situated on the eastern coast of Avellonis and surrounded by mountains, Rainegate is the central jewel of the human Kingdom tracing it's origin back to the Age of Unification and the first king Avellonis. Although still in it's infancy compared to the other realm capitals it's become a sprawling cityscape mingling with a mixture of all races from across the lands, From elves of Empyria, Dwarves of Vulgrim, and even the occassional beastman.
Ships of varying shapes and sizes could be found upon the docks of Rainegate, Ranging from the regal war ships of Empyria to the Barely floating steam boats filled with exotic foods of Vulgrim. The dock's smell of fish and spices wash through the crowded streets and fill the city with an air of mixed cultures that you wouldn't likely find in any city in Triptych.
The Justice Acolytes of Velorum are the elite police force of the city managing anything the city guards are too inexperienced to handle, From their inquisitors monitoring of daily civilian lives to mete out sedition and the spreading of illegal information. Their citadel sits an island just off the coast of the docks and is seen as a totalitarian organisation that enforces their will upon the commons despite their heroic actions during the Age of Three.
The King's Guard before the Age of Three were chosen from the most experienced and elite of the city guard who were further trained and disciplined to provide only the most stalwart service to the King - After the Age of Three when the Justice Acolytes would come in to join the demographics of the city many were a chosen to serve as bulwarks of the King many of which are stationed solely within the Golden District and the Court of Kings.
Just below the monarch is the Grand Assembly who settle all other matters in which the current ruler requires advice or simply having been too busy to attend to, The assembly is composed of respected individuals hailing from Kingsbury, Thornton, And Avellonis from lords, counts, and dukes coming from their respective settlements to bring forth any objects or suggestions in how the Kingdom is run. These council members are to be situated on an island within the confines of Rainegate next to the Citadel of the Justice Acolytes when the time has come for a union of minds, Dressed in their distinctly coloured garbs representing the realm in which they originate and deliberate on matters of the Kingdom as one.
Demographics
The populace of Rainegate are scattered far and wide between the larger population of humans to those who have come from other lands and chose to live in the capital of Avellonis such as elves, dwarves and those in from far away lands. The higher class being human nobles that have lived within the Kingdom for an era before the first other races set foot on Avellonis, Most traders come as dwarves who have a settlement not too far from the capital as they bring in exotic goods and essential wares, You'd long to find any other race within the golden and silver districts of the city instead cultures and mixed heritages form around the lower districts around the port consisting of mostly travellers and tourists.Trade and Tourism
From the neighbouring continents to the far reaches of the northern realms, Many choose to visit Rainegate due to it's relatively new foundations recently discovered by the other races only a couple thousand years ago. The Kingdom of Rainegate though at times has been ruled by a queen, The King has been the most dominant position of power through the ages as the long line of House Bladecrest continues to prosper from the first King Avellonis. Infrastructure
The capital of Avellonis features a layer system where the higher class are situated within the northern districts closest to the Court of Kings forming a literal hierarchy, With each layer apart from the lowest having been seeded with large apple trees that undergo constant maintenance to make sure they don't overgrow the city. The lowest of the districts contains the docks and the lodgings for the lower class.Golden District
The tallest of the districts reserved only for the most prolific and well known houses of Rainegate, The Golden District is home to royalty, assembly members, great houses and many elite guards that spend their days protecting the most important people of the Kingdom. The Court of Kings is also situated within this district where the king's throne sits in the back of a large court, Only accessible via the Silver District there are only a few who have access to such priviliged accomodations.Silver District
Below the golden district is the silver, Where the many lesser houses are found - Those included are sister-houses of Bladecrest, Royal houses from neigbouring cities and the wealthy of Rainegate. Though not as wide-spread as the Gold, Justice Acolytes and elite guards of such experience are still employed within this district.Central District
The largest area of the city, The Central District houses most of the houses and shops accessible to most anyone who can afford to stay within lodgings after curfew. Market stalls, General shops, Parks, And many other public commodities are a fair number within the district built up from years of commerce and expansion.Iron District
With just a few lodgings scattered here and there, The Iron District was mainly constructed due to the always expanding needs of the city - Forges, Cranes, And crafting facilities are found all over the district stretching from the northern to the southern end of the docks.
