Rising Sun Adventurer's Guild

The Rising Sun Adventurer's Guild is one of the foremost adventurer's guilds in Diguardia and in all of Chaia. Formed by former Dragon Slayers, it employs a wide number of highly skilled adventurers.
There are about 5,000 guild member in total within the Rising Sun Guild.

Structure

The Rising Sun is fairly decentralized, but does have a definite hierarchy. At the top of that structure is the guild master, who presides over guild matters and has the final say in everything that the guild does. Under the guild master is the Council of Three. The council is composed of three of the most powerful members of the guild. New members get onto the council through one of the following paths: (1) If any guild member beats one of the council in single combat, the victorious guild member immediately takes the defeated member's spot on the council. (2) Each of the three on the council has a named successor who will take their spot in the event of their death. All successors must be members of the guild and approved by the guild master. Baring one of these two situations, i.e. defeat in single combat or death, council members hold their positions for life. The guild master is also appointed for life, but cannot lose his or her office by any means other than death or resignation. When the guild master dies or resigns, a vote is taken throughout the entire guild for who on the council of three ought to succeed him or her as guild master. Every member of the guild receives an equal vote, and the votes are tallied by the Count of Horough.

Among the ranks of the normal guild members, there are several tiers. The newest recruits are evaluated by the guild master and placed at whatever rank he or she sees fit. Most recruits are placed in the lowest of ranks, violet star. There are essentially three tiers of ranks: star, moon, and sun. Star indicates a guild member who is still learning and require oversight on most missions both for their own safety and for the safety of those around them. Moon refers to those guild members who are capable of holding their own in small teams and who the guild master is confident will represent the guild well. Sun guild members are those who are capable of dealing with most situations single-handedly, and who would be called to action in the most dire of circumstances. Within each of these tiers are several levels, the progression through which represents a heightening of the level of responsibility a guild member can be entrusted with. The first level is violet, the second is blue, the third is green, the fourth is orange, the fifth is red, the sixth is silver, and the final level is golden. Therefore, the highest rank in the guild is golden sun. This is the level most aspiring council members achieve.
