    The Banking Guild of Coins has done everything in the book to control the flow of coins and trade across Charybdis. Every lord and lady owes something to the banking guild and even the lowest of beggars has a debt to be collected by them. Without the guild, it is said that much of the world we know today might not look the same. Many years of influencing the laws of kingdoms and pushing to opening new trade ports have given the guild much say in the realms. Without a doubt, the coins in the pouch of the average commoner were minted by them by order of a King or other noble and the vast wealth they keep under lock and key must be great.
    At the height of the guild's power, people across the land took loans and paid others in letters of credit backed by the guild. Yet nothing lasts forever and the golden age of its power is now in the past after the Northern Star Empire lost the lands to the south and the debt incurred pushed the guild to be more frugal. Still, much of the people rely on the guild for moving large sums of money to other cities and to pay debts by the letter carrier.
