The Oceanic Pantheon

The Pantheon of The Ocean

One of the eldest Pantheons and one with a most storied history, The Oceanic Pantheon represents the family of gods that rule over the watery parts of the world. Ruled by Leviathan and his wife Sturgeon, the gods of the Oceanic Pantheon are said to be those who were born from the sacrifice of the Great Primordial God of Water long ago...of course, Leviathan and Sturgeon are considered to have risen first from the sundering of their father's divinity, and much later, as drifting sparks of divine power sunk into the primordial waters of the early oceans, the great waters of the deep spiraled into life and thus was Aquilon born, a brother deity to Leviathan who was granted dominion over sea monsters, ruins, and history...little to nothing is known of Aquilon, even by his followers, and those who have been said to see his true form rarely find themselves able to coherently describe the terrible, awe-inspiring form they laid their eyes upon.   Leviathan, the lord of the pantheon and master of the deep ocean trenches and lightless depths, rules the Pantheon with an unbridled chaos that only he could bring, while his wife Sturgeon is said to be his calmer and more composed counterbalance, who calms him down when he rages too mightily and smoothes over his anger...Aquilon rarely associates with his "sibling" deities, but when he does he is considered to be on fairly good terms with them, if not a bit estranged due to his mysterious, lonesome nature.   Whitecoat is perhaps the one outlier in this Pantheon...as they did not, in fact, take shape until much later in the history of the world they are not commonly associated with The Oceanic Pantheon to those unfaithful who view his faith from the outside, he is nonetheless considered to have been a descendant of the Great Primordial God...at least, in some small way. He is said to despise his older siblings, and his followers believe he actively rages against them at every opportunity, striking their holdings or followers wherever he can...nonetheless, he is considered to be the estranged child of this Pantheon, and one who the followers of Sturgeon consider to be a target of her motherly affection so that she might one day teach him how to be a proper member of society...though, any who know of Whitecoat's followers would call this folly.
