Kingdom of Zareb
This Kingdom was formerly the power center of the Zalarite Order. Although the Plateau of Zareb provided a challenging environment for settlement, it controlled one of the few viable trade routes over the Spine Mountains. The Zalarites built their heavily fortified capital on the Plateau and developed the existing caravan route across the Plateau into a well-engineered trade road. After hundreds of years Zalarite control, the Zalarite Kingdom abruptly collapsed in the face of a surprise Majaran invasion. The Kingdoms southernmost stronghold, Irongate was seized by a Warlord from one of the Zalarite's former vassal states in upper Lao.
The Kingdom is now one of the three domains of the Majaran Empire and is under more or less permanent military occupation by Majaran and Alyite forces. The most tractable daughter of the former Zalarite Queen was placed on the throne by the Empress under the heavy supervision of a privy council organized by the Empire.
