The Veiled Priestess

The veiled priestess is an albino Veiled woman who inherited a sacred cultural duty to guide Veiled on a spiritual pilgrimage during their adolescence. In ages past, Veiled once travelled to the polar ice of Mong Bal to complete a ritual into adhulthood. However, in the wake of Mong Bal's ecological devastation, the ice caps melted and what remained of the Veiled were scattered about the planet or sold into slavery of Mong Bal warlords. Nevertheless, the priestess was able to keep the tradition alive by awakening ancestral memories of the pilgrimage in veiled she came across.   The priestess came into the possession of the Sato Clan during her travels. When the city revolted against its warlord, she was spirited away to Jin City. Sato hoped to obtain asylum abroad in the Chimera Alliance by offering the priestess to the Corsairs. Jin Bei arranged a meeting with him in Jin City, hoping to offer the priestess a position among the Corsairs as a bridge to the Veiled people.   However, those plans were thwarted when two veiled assassins, Itthis and Dren, killed Sato and kidnapped the priestess in a conspiracy by the rival He Clan and Hanuman Brotherhood. Itthis would have likely attempted to free the priestess, had his clan's co-conspirators in the Hanuman Brotherhood not betrayed him, killing the He warlord and taking the priestess for themselves.   The Veiled priestess was taken prisoner by the new ruler of the He Clan, He Jun. He used her blood to create a race of subservient albino Veiled called The Faded, who were more stealthy than thier forebears, but lacked their sapience.   While in He Jun's captivity, grotesque visions have haunted Itthis's nightmares of his organs being removed, cloned, and placed in vats in some kind of laboratory aboard an airship. He has vowed to undo his mistakes and rescue the priestess, but operating on spheres far from Mong Bal, is a long way from achieving his goal.
