Geimiir

The terrible god of beasts was obsessed with strength and was more savage than any animal. A constant menace to the old gods and antagonist of the Diegeses, Geimiir created a large amount of the mindless monsters that prowl the wilds even now. He firmly believed in the survival of the fittest and that nature should dominate the weak humanoids who needed houses and armors to survive. When Daikini created the kitsune race he decided to create the 12 races of beast folk to combine the cleverness of a hunter with the physical strength and instincts of an animal. These peoples were grateful for their new found intelligence and upright bodies as they praised Geimiir and began building civilizations of their own. When they lacked the bloodlust he hoped for he abandoned them all, except for the gnolls who hunted in terrible packs just as he'd hoped. He became enraged he could not create beastmen to do as he pleased and shot an arrow through Daikini's heart killing her. Amateratsu implored the other gods to kill Geimiir for the terror that he was but before they could he committed one last hellish miracle. After his failure to create the perfect humanoid he poured his energies into creating an even greater monster he wanted to be the ultimate embodiment of raw power, The Devourer of Kingdoms. The creature of epics was the largest ever seen and so bizarrely powerful it destroyed the largest city in early Nalchaa before being beaten in a battle that left nothing but ruins and corpses. The god of beasts was subsequently killed after his creation by the many deities who'd banded together to stop it and though he is long dead the beast races he abandoned still show thanks to their absentee father.   Among the 12 species of beastmen Geimiir created are:
  • Tabaxi
  • Gnoll
  • Loxodon
  • Kenku
  • Ibraxis
  • Lizardmen
  • Caninites
  • Anurope
