Jörmungandr
Longer than the mountain ranges of Nalchaa, stronger than Tajikaro, more menacing than The Devourer of Kingdoms: these are words used to describe the great divine serpent Jörmungandr. This creature has existed in tales since time immemorial yet there are none to tell its origin. Since the first time clerics communed with the gods or used the mythical high magics to see the realms of Niflheim it was there. In those days the great snake would roam about the deep seas emerging only to swallow up those who crossed the seas carrying bad fortune. It is said Jörmungandr never came ashore because the gods never let it, for fear of the havoc it would cause deities like Thorr would swoop in and bash the beast's colossal snout until it sank back beneath the waves. Despite being struck with holy weapons and spells of other gods the beast always returned.
After the battle of Ragnarok Ginnungagap split Niflheim in 2 halves down the center and only the roots of the old world tree stopped the halves from drifting apart immediatly. After Baldur convinced Nesidth to end the destruction of the realm Loki took control of Jörmungandr and told it to wrap itself around the world to stop it from falling apart. Jörmungandr was so long that it was able to wrap completely around Niflheim's circumfrance more than twice over and still leave their head free to move and feed. Now when the serpent moves its scaley mass may pulverize anything nearby as it shifts across the globe, a true terror should Loki ever order it to slither across their enemies. As there are no stories of other deities talking to them it is unknown whether this divine beast holds ancient knowledge from the dawn of time it uses working toward unfathomable goals or if it merely has the brain of a garden snake in an utterly titanic form.
