The one where they bought some furniture

General Summary

The morning in Sigil began with Brant taking the lead on breakfast, his culinary efforts bringing the group together for a rare moment of domestic tranquility. Clay, in a moment of vulnerability, offered to discuss feelings and more personal matters, but met with a general lack of interest. Unfazed, he compartmentalized his emotions, a skill he's grown all too familiar with.   Post-breakfast, the group attended to their mundane duties, dutifully paying their rent. Their routine was soon interrupted by a peculiar encounter with Rusty’s offspring, a unique being part fiend, part celestial, highlighting the diverse and often surprising nature of family connections in the planes.   Seeking to investigate their surroundings further, Araceli and Clay concocted a distraction allowing Nix and Brant to investigate unnoticed. However, a slip of magic from Nix rendered Clay invisible, complicating their efforts. Despite the setback, Araceli seized the moment to perform solo, discovering a deep-seated passion for the spotlight and a newfound aspiration to pursue performance full-time.   Their investigation confirmed the safety of their building, a small comfort in the bustling city of Sigil. Their day took another turn upon meeting Miriam and her wife Rosie. The encounter escalated when Araceli faced harassment, only for Miriam to swiftly defend her, displaying the fierce loyalty and protective nature of their new acquaintances. Rosie’s invitation to breakfast further cemented this budding friendship, offering insights into the complex factions of Sigil over shared meals.   The group’s quest for knowledge led them to Kesto, leaving the poor soul despondent with their inquiries. A successful casting of "locate object" by Clay and "clairvoyance" by Nix unveiled a long-abandoned child’s room, holding a journal that would unravel a tale of loss, ambition, and innocence corrupted. Pippin’s journal, a two-way communication with Faeryl, revealed a tragic narrative culminating in Pippin’s untimely death and Faeryl’s desperate turn towards alchemy to escape a life of crime.   The discovery of Faeryl’s recent employment by The Dusters and her framing unfolded from the journal’s pages, prompting the group to reach out and offer aid. Their day concluded with an attempt to offload loot, leading to peculiar acquisitions for their home and an unexpected reunion with Brant’s acquaintance, Thorn, at the pirate bar.   Returning home with new furnishings and potions, the group settled into a semblance of domesticity, only for their peace to be shattered by vivid nightmares. Nix and Brant’s dreams hinted at deeper plots and personal demons, leaving them to face the dawn withunease and unanswered questions.   As they penned their offer to Faeryl, her terse response left them on edge, yet hopeful for a rendezvous. The session closed on a note of suspense, with the group’s dynamics tested and their resolve strengthened, ready to face the mysteries and dangers that Sigil, the City of Doors, held for them.
