Personal history
Sunny grew up with her sister Ivory in the Possumfolk village of Homestead, located near the city of Delmyde where she was raised by her father Tate, and her mother Kim.
In 969 PD, members of the Ritale Empire discovered Homestead and invaded it, occupying the space and driving out most of the population. At one point, Sunny approached the leader of the group, Uldrin Hollowcrest, and asked what it would take to get them to leave her home. Sarcastically retorting "a million gold", Sunny took this to heart, and set out to find the funds to drive Hollowcrest and his men from her village.
Sunny joined Ark Encels during the robbery of a Verdanian train. Originally going by the name Cate, she was given the nickname Sunny by Lily when the first met. During her early days out away from her home, Sunny relied on attempting trades with people she met, bartering and continuing to trade up to more and more valuable items.
While in the woods near Kestler, Sunny met the spirit of Malus, and helped him hunt a remnant of Caim. After vanquishing the apparition, Malus gifted her with his old battle axe, which would become her signature weapon. Sunny would later confront members of the Ritale Empire in her village, driving them out and saving Homestead in the process.
