Sword of Kas
The Sword of Kas is a sentient, versatile black longsword formerly wielded by Kas the Betrayer when he rebelled against Vecna millennia ago. The blade seeks blood and the downfall of Vecna, and is legendary for being the weapon that carved the Hand and Eye of Vecna from the lich during Kas' epic battle against him.
The blade would later be wielded by Rasper Gouliak who would rename it to the Sword of Ras.
Attunement
Once attuned to the blade, the user is granted the following properties:- Minor Benefit: Wielder gains proficiency in longswords.
- Major Benefit: Wielder's constitution score increases by +2 (Maximum of 24).
- Minor Detriment: Wielder's appearance is grayed, hair/fur/feathers do not grow back.
- Major Detriment: The wielder must complete the sword's quest to kill Vecna. Any time they act in a manner against the sword's instructions, the wielder suffers 5d10 psychic damage no more than once per day.
