The Dark secrets of the seas
On the time before The Great Flood the Tieflings where always seen with distrust and hostility due to their Fiendish Nature although few actually dabbled with the powers from their origin. When the flood came, the Tieflings received early warning from something or someone and managed to retreat from civilization, returning to the flooded lands ten years after the flood sailing in on vessels made from wood, and the still-living remains of gigantic aquatic creatures. Initially seeking refuge on the shores of the The Western Woods, the elves having learned from their past experiences denied the infernal Fleet access to Godelan's Haven, even though the floundering fleet was days from collapse. In a desperate bet for survival, the fleet sailed northward past the island until their ships couldn't sail anymore, and landed on the area where they eventually founded Ocearis. With no other choice, the Tieflings bartered for a cease-fire until their ships were repaired, yet these repairs are still ongoing, more than 50-years later.Infernal Heritage
Among the Tieflings there are two distinct bloodlines, the infernal blood, and the abyssal blood:Infernal Blood:
Those with the touch of the Nine-hells, are considered the more nuanced of the two bloodlines, their features are generally more human, with a colored skin (more reddish tones) and minor physical changes which can be easily cover-up. They also exude an aura that makes people forget about these features.Abyssal Blood:
Compared to their Infernal kin, these Tieflings are more monstrous, their physiology more superhuman. Oversized limbs and torsos aren't uncommon, resembling humans in peak condition, and massive goatlike horns and wings are often seen as well. Their skin color sends towards greenish and yellowish.Merchant Council
Since their arrival, the Tiefling of The Infernal Docks have been reverant to a being they call The Voice Below. This being governs the The Infernal Docks via a council comprised of the representatives of the six most successful and influential merchant organizations of Ocearis.Current Problems
The Voice of the Master
Heeding the calls of their master, various ships have been sent out onto the seas. Their missions are only known to the ships and their captain. Until now, none of these ships have returned. The Dead from the Waves
With their ties with the seas, many of the Tieflings have been sent to deal with the occurrences of the long-dead washing up ashore (See The Returning). The group responsible therefore is the Shorewatchers. They are tasked to figure out the reason for their return, and if required, deal with them accordingly. Yet their goals are laudable, the general opposition of the other races as well as the sporadic and widespread nature of these occurrences have resulted in only a fraction of these events is investigated by the Shorewatchers.Diplomacy Diagram not available
