Ragna Island, nestled within The Scareguards Archipelago, presents a rugged and imposing landscape. The island's terrain is characterized by stark contrasts: steep cliffs that drop sharply into the sea, and rocky shores punctuated by occasional sandy beaches. The interior of the island is dominated by rough, uneven ground with scattered patches of hardy vegetation clinging to life in the nutrient-poor soil.   The island is rich in natural resources, which is evident in the numerous mines that dot the landscape. These mines burrow deep into the earth, creating a network of tunnels and pits that reflect the island’s extensive industrial activity. The constant excavation has transformed parts of the island into a patchwork of mining sites and processing facilities, surrounded by heaps of excavated earth and slag.   Above this industrial base, the settlements on Ragna Island have a functional, utilitarian design. Buildings are typically constructed from local stone and recycled metal, giving the architecture a sturdy, fortified appearance. The gunsmiths' workshops, which are central to the island's economy, are particularly well-built, often reinforced to protect the valuable tools and weapons crafted within.   The limited sunlight, due to the island's low altitude and frequent cloud cover, casts a persistent gloom over the landscape, contributing to the island’s somber ambiance. However, this starkness is broken by the vibrant activity of the islanders, whose resilience shines through in bustling markets and busy docks, where fishermen and traders bring in their catch and goods.   Despite its harsh environment, Ragna Island exudes a rugged charm, with its landscape offering dramatic views of the surrounding ocean and the distant silhouettes of other islands in the archipelago. The island’s aesthetic, while predominantly industrial, is marked by a stark beauty, characterized by its unyielding terrain and the indomitable spirit of its inhabitants.

Economy and Industry

Historically regarded as the poorest among the main islands, Ragna Island has undergone a dramatic transformation into the preeminent manufacturing hub of the archipelago under the leadership of Diego, known as the Arm of Ragna. The island's economy thrives on its advanced industrialization, with a particular emphasis on firearm production. Ragna's gunsmiths are celebrated across the realm for their unparalleled expertise and craftsmanship, honed through generations of work and a profound understanding of metallurgy.

Leadership and Governance

Ragna Island is ruled by Diego, the enigmatic leader known for his peculiarities and often described as "weird" by his peers on The War Council. Despite his unusual demeanor and the discomfort it causes among other council members, Diego has proven to be an astute and effective leader. His leadership style is marked by silent observation and precise, calculated decision-making. Under his guidance, Ragna Island has not only industrialized rapidly but also expanded its fleet, significantly enhancing its economic stature.

War Council Involvement

Diego's role in the War Council of the Republic of Misty Waters is primarily that of a silent observer, often manipulating a sleek black knife during meetings, which creates an uneasy atmosphere among his colleagues. Despite the council’s frequent disagreements, there is unanimous consensus regarding Diego’s idiosyncrasies. However, his strategic insights and contributions to discussions, though subtle, are highly valued, particularly in matters affecting the security and economic development of the archipelago.

Cultural and Social Aspects

The resilience and adaptability of the islanders are a testament to the harsh conditions they have historically endured, including a high crime rate and challenging living conditions. The adversities faced by the residents have forged a tenacious spirit that is reflective in their economic resurgence and contributions to the archipelago’s defense and manufacturing capabilities.
