Order of Firastus
The Order of Firastus was founded in 482 P.U. within the Bastion of Fomenko by Doctors and Priests who felt they could do more to help the people of Devorn. They created an order whose members would travel Devorn tending to the sick, wounded, and infirm and constructing clinics and hospitals where the afflicted could seek treatment. The order makes an effort to not charge more than an individual could afford for their treatment and they supplement their coffers with donations from the nations of Devorn.
Members of the Order of Firastus are generally experienced healers that sought to have more of an impact on the world or compassionate youths just looking to help. They are trained to provide care in the most desperate of circumstances with minimal supplies and are taught to improvise when necessary. Priests within the order are often followers of Eridos, God of the Shining Sun, Feurl, God of the Hearth, or Iska, Goddess of Beauty, surprisingly a few even follow Dullesa, Goddess of the Midnight Star and the Blessing of the Shining Star. The majority of the Doctors who join the order have been trained at Order of Firastus clinics or hospitals though not all of them are.
Structure
The leader of the Order of Firastus is given the title Grand Master and oversees the hospital in Slatovat while also managing the overarching efforts of the order. There is only one Grand Master at a time and they serve until retirement when a chosen successor replaces them.
Beneath the Grand Master are the Masters who oversee the major hospitals ran by the order. Masters also act as regional directors for the efforts of the order and oversee the Companions working in the region.
Beneath the Masters are the Companions who make up the majority of the order. Companions are the clinic operators and wandering healers of the order who provide treatment to the citizens of Devorn and train the Residents of the order.
Beneath the Companions are the Residents who are the trainees of the order. Residents are assigned to a companion for a period of at least two years to improve their skills and ensure they understand the values of the order.
