The Great Archive of Jarham

The Great Archive of Jarham is the central headquarters of the The Order of the Broken Tome and is one of the tallest and most recognisable buildings in Beregan. Construction on the Great Archive began in 392 P.U. and was finally completed in 429 P.U.. The Great Archive is near 400 ft tall at its peak and is constructed of polished smooth stone. The central hall of the archive is so large that Scribes of the Order often jest that an argument held at one end of the hall would take a full day to reach the other end. To either side of the central hall are the chambers holding the library of the Great Archive, containing thousands of bookshelves stacked high to the ceiling. 
The Great Archive contains the majority of the accumulated knowledge discovered or recovered by The Order of the Broken Tome with new scrolls and tomes arriving from across Beregan each month. As the library of the Archive fills documents considered of lesser importance are placed in the vaults beneath the central hall of the building.

History

Construction on the Great Archive began on the orders of the reigning Queen of Otril, Viola Woadreth, in 393 P.U. and was finished 36 years later in 429 P.U. Following the construction each member of the Unbroken Line of Woadreth have completed their education within the Great Archive under the instruction of the Master Archivist of The Order of the Broken Tome.
