Utho is Alison Blaggerd's father. A mapmaker by trade, he dotes on his only daughter but is extremely busy, leaving Alison's aunt Matinne Torment to see to much of her upbringing.
Both to provide for his daughter's education and in an effort to keep her occupied—and, hopefully, out of trouble—Utho secured the services of a tutor named Vathras.
Although he loves his daughter very much, Utho is not unaware of her faults. He is, however, unaware of her criminal activities.
