New York Paladins

The New York Paladins were the world's first "superhero" team. Established in 1978 in New York City, they began an organised campaign against the rising wave of super crime of the late 70s. Inspiring many to follow in their footsteps, they not only etablished the concept of organised super teams working in law enforcement, but in their cooperation with the official authorities are considered the originators of what would later develop into the concept of sanctioned supers.
Active all the way up until the death of Lady Liberty in the Destruction of the Empire State Building in 2000, they are credited with over fifehundred super-crime related arrests and over threehundred won battles, most famously the capture of Paracelsus.

Structure

While possessing no official hierarchy, de facto the team's oldest member Veteran acted as their leader.

Disbandment

After the death of a member of the team in 2000, the New York Paladins disbanded by agreement of all remaining members.
