Stephen Cain (a.k.a. Flashbang)

Flashbang, civilian name Stephen Cain, is a former member of the New York Paladins, media personality, author, movie producer and philanthropist.
After his retirement following the disbandment of the Paladins in the wake of the Destruction of the Empire State Building, he revealed his identity to the public, becoming even more of a media star in the process.
His autobiographies "Donning the Cape" and "Memoirs of a Paladin" are international bestsellers. He also served as producer for the movie "Homunculus", a movie adaption of the Paladin's battle against Paracelsus and runs the "Liberty School Foundation" that seeks to give children from impoverished families access to schooling opportunities and provides schools in poorer parts of the United States with funding for supplies and services such as free lunches.

Flashbang is bald and has a surprisingly young-looking face. Despite his average height, he looks spindly and worn out.

Special abilities

Flashbang creates small "packages" of light that can detonate with a delay. The effect of these explosions propagates via photons, not via air. As such, the effect is limited by line of sight, not distance to the core of the explosion. Similarly, its effect on a hit target depends mostly on the size of the exposed area, not the proximity.

Apparel & Accessories

Flashbang's costume was fiery red and looked like a very classic superhero outfit, cape and all. He was one of the most famous Supers to popularise the look.
