Department of Superhuman Affairs
The Department of Superhuman Affairs (DSHA) is a federal executive department of the government of the United States of America. It is tasked with supervising the regulation and integration of Supers into U.S. society.
First established by the Human/Superman Regulations Act in 1983, and officially commencing operation in 1984, it also maintains nationwide databases on all supers active within the borders of the United States, classifying and assessing the threat of their powers. It directly commands most government-run super teams, with limited control over state-level super institutions.
It also grants funding for super-related projects such as buildings and equipment for prisons or AS-SWAT teams.
With its budget having been raised countless times over the years, it is considered one of the most expensive departments of the government relative to the amount of people its actions affect.
In 2006, a proposal to merge it into the Department of Homeland Security failed.
