Kopa Drea

The Kopa Drea is an organized crime syndicate based in the city of Quilport.

Structure

The leader of the Kopa Drea is given the title of Padria. They are elected by lower-ranked syndicate officials known as Compadrias. The Padria is the arbiter of disputes between factions within the syndicate and is expected to oversee the management of the syndicate, while serving as the face of the organization to the public. The Padria can be deposed at any time if two-thirds of the Compadria agree to a vote of no confidence, or more commonly through assassination or death. The current Padria of the family is Ambition Quathmil.
The Compadria serve as the managers of different factions within the larger organization. For the most part, a Compadrias is considered equal in rank to the Padria but in practice defers to the leader's authority in order to maintain the stability of the whole organization. The Compadria are also public-facing members of the organization who are expected to make appearances at public events and are often sent to meetings between the Four Families as representatives of the Padre.
There is no set number of Compadria; a member can rise to the rank if enough of the rank-and-file throw their support behind a particular individual, usually by amassing enough wealth and influence inside the syndicate. The prospective officer will request an appointment by the Padria, and once this nomination is approve, their appointment is then voted on by all members of the syndicate.
Compadria are responsible for hiring underlings for their factions. They appoint managers to oversee their various enterprises both criminal and legitimate; these managers report directly to their Compadrias and are often unaware the full extent of the Kopa Drea's dealings, only given enough information to properly manage their segment of the business.

Public Agenda

The high-ranking officers of the Kopa Drea are well-known throughout Quilport for their generous patronage of the arts. Wealthy members of the Kopa Drea have provided funding toward the construction of theaters, museums, and other public entertainment venues. Though ostensibly gifted to the citizens of Quilport, the Kopa Drea retain great influence behind the scenes and its members are often given preferential treatment in auditions, selections for exhibition, and so forth. Their influence over the cultural scene of Quilport is so entrenched that the syndicate serves as a de facto guild for painters, musicians, and other creatives; up-and-coming artists are expected to join the family as a prerequisite for fame and fortune.
The Kopa Drea are primarily information brokers, using their close ties with the cultural elite and wealthy aristocrats of Quilport to gather valuable information which can be sold to interested third parties. They are the eyes and ears of the Four Families and the only member of the organization with spies in the Aubergine League.
In addition to intelligence gathering, the Kopa Drea's other primary enterprise involves trafficking. The many brothels and night clubs throughout Quilport are staffed by itinerant women and men who fell into debt with the syndicate, as well as former actors, singers, and other creatives forced into the business after their careers were ruined due to some slight to the Kopa Drea. The syndicate provides muscle to work security for these same brothels and night clubs in order to keep an eye on their victims, while the syndicate extorts the businesses in exchange for the promise of safety.
