The Thaven Hand Order
The Thaven Hand Order was founded by human tribal casters working to undermine the giants invasion of Norrhan. They are known to have worked with the dwarves and elves to defeat the giants thousands of years ago.
Once the giants were defeated they were put in shinelight as the leaders of the surrendered human tribes. They were part of negotiating the first human land agreement with the native species of the continent, witch granted humanity The Frostwinders mountain ranges and some of the bordering regions.
The regions were Borderwoods, Eastmarch, Loething, Middenmarch, Borderlands, Border Reaches. Much of the territories were ancient dark elven territories and were simple to settle as the existing complex sewer system built in the ruins.
The High Marches: Whitespire
The Thaven Hand grew and later strengthened their influence even more by building the academy of Whitespire. They collected the bones of thousands of giants and other magical dense creatures to create a magical stronghold made of the bones of their fallen enemy.Whitespire: Imges

The Exalted Alliance
When the exalted alliance was being established and refusing humanity equal membership. The Thaven Hand Order decided to only be active on Norrhan and not migrate to the southern sub-continents as they viewed it as just as trading their old master for a new one. Instead they worked to protect the human tribes on norrhan and studied ways to increase the magical sensitivity level in their species. The created way to establish a number of sorcerer's origins, while also inventing potions and other creation to make it easier for humanity to manipulate the magical weave. The Imperium of Avanor
With the establishment of the human imperium the thaven hand stopped being as connected with the local rulers of Norrhan. The instead begin a more commercial and non interfering attitude to the lords of the northern continent. The original purpose of the order as the guiding hand to protect humanity, was to most of its members no longer needed and as such its policy started changing to freedom focused study of the arcane and to be allowed to use their powers. Especially as most of the southerners had in their view a dogmatic and oppressive view towards magic where their freedom were often suppressed for the greater good, something that The Thaven Hand Order were not that happy with. The Thaven Hand Order was the only human mage order that was not connected with the Empire at this time and as such had an growing apathy to international politics. While also some of the best non-human relations. The lex Sanctum
With the establishment of lex sanctum much of the international community started to focus heavily on pressuring the The Thaven Hand to join as without them as the oldest human order it would not hold as much social influence in the eye of the human commoners of norrhan. After multiple attempts they finally joined and became a part of the liberal conservative faction of the sanctum vetoing as many rules and regulations as possible making many orders regretting inviting them. A common joke in the mage communities is that a vote is going to be blocked instead of being held as the likelihood of the Thaven representative stopping the vote is greater when allowing it to be held.Regulation Policy
Thaven mages views of regulation on magic is that they can do what they themself view safe and legal at the Whitespire, while outside they should obey the rules of the local area. They also don't view themselves as part of society and more as an outside force that is offering a service for payment. This has resulted in good relations with the local nobles and oligarchs that feel that the mages are not competing for authority with them. While angering many of the churches that want the mages to take a greater responsibility and duty in helping society.Relations
The Thaven Hand and the Magi often clashed in the past, as the Thaven Hand's Grey Mages pursued mage teachings based on mastery over control, the latter of which the Magi often fanatically tried to enforce. The Marches of the High Marches were most commonly the locations for these conflicts, which eventually created a minor divide between northern and southern cities. While Thaven Hand holds dominance in the northern marches, and the Magi in the south, marches. The majority of the conflicts ended peacefully, but some led to minor revolts or open witch-hunts against members of both Orders. After the Caldum Accords, the disagreements between the Thaven Hand and the Magi have been calmed, but on a political level they are often still at odds with each other. Unlike the Magi, the Thaven Hand has shown to be less inclined to hunt and persecute illegal mages and witchfolk, and sometimes has been found defending those individuals.
