Cardinal Planes

The Cardinal Planes, sometimes known as the Absolute Planes, are the outer planes ruled by the emotional absolutes that all life is pulled toward in some fashion. To all of reality, it is said that these Cardinal Planes can summarize the basic pull and alignment of an individual's choices, actions, and nature.   It has been argued by the philosophers of the Great Disc that the Cardinal Planes are more integral to the construction of reality than even the Elemental Planes or the Divine Planes of the Gods, because they represent the core moral concepts that everything - even the primordials and gods - must adhere to.   There are four Cardinal Planes, two pairs that represent the dichotomy of existence:
  • Nirvana, Plane of Law, ruled by the One, Primus.
  • Pandemonium, Plane of Chaos, ruled by the Many, Khaos.
  • Elysium, Plane of Good, ruled by the Blessed, Celeste.
  • Tarterus, Plane of Evil, ruled by the Damned, Cthon.
