The rotten domain

In the heart of a once lush valley, the Rotten Domain stands as a testament to both nature's resilience and the profound impact of human ambition. Initially, this region was a flourishing wetland, known for its vibrant ecosystem and the peaceful tribe that inhabited it: the Marshlanders. These people, deeply connected with their surroundings, thrived by trading the valley's natural resources, leading to the establishment of the Blackwater Bazaar.   However, the valley's prosperity drew the envy of its neighbors. Repeated invasions by covetous forces put the Marshlanders on a perennial defense. In response to these threats, the Marshlanders erected the Siltstone Stronghold, a bulwark against the encroaching armies.   Tragedy struck when Draken, a warlord with grand ambitions, recklessly diverted the River Sylph, flooding vast swaths of the valley. This ill-conceived decision gave birth to the The Mire of Desolation, turning the valley's vibrant greens into a sprawling swamp. In this new world of water and murk, the Marshlanders had to adapt or perish. Stilted houses emerged from the waters, and a new way of life began, centered around the swamp and its resources.   But nature wasn't the only force to reckon with. The countless invasions had taken a toll on the community, especially on one of its most skilled warriors: the man who would become Rotten Lord- origins and ascent. Scarred by the loss of comrades and loved ones, he turned to ancient Marshlander herbology, distorting its knowledge to produce potent and addictive drugs. By ensnaring hostile nations in a web of addiction, he found a way to make them bend to his will. His methods, while effective, were undeniably cruel, earning him the moniker "Rotten King."   His descent into darkness was driven by an insatiable lust for power and wealth. As he amassed riches and expanded his territories, his notorious reputation grew. The swamp, once a haven of natural beauty, became synonymous with the Rotten Lord's gruesome deeds. His sprawling mansion in the Mire of Desolation stood not just as a symbol of his might but also as a grim reminder of the depths to which he had sunk.   Tensions reached a climax when the Rotten Lord's ambitions put him on a collision course with the rising power of the region, the Draconic Kingdom Draconic Kingdom under King Vendrick: From Modest Beginnings to a Monumental Legacy. The wars that followed scarred the land further. In a move to cripple the Rotten Lord's power, Vendrick ordered vast sections of the swamp burned, leading to the creation of the The Charred Plains.   The end of the conflict saw the Rotten Lord subdued and the domain integrated into the Draconic Kingdom.
