Fairy Dragons

Found in every draconic lineage and breed, these miniature dragons are hatched from otherwise normal eggs. In addition to their miniature sizing, the most common trait found among the fairy variant of every breed is a mischievous nature, similar to the fairies they have been named after.

Description

Physical

Fairy dragons are miniature versions of their parental breed. All physical characteristics of their parent's breed are maintained in the fairy dragon's form. When a fairy dragon hatches, they are difficult to identify. Only once the clutch begins to grow are fairy dragons revealed physically. Most fairy dragons are hatched at their full size, with feedings helping to fill out their musculature some, but their overall size will generally not change throughout their life. Although they are smaller than other dragons of their breed, their bone and muscle structure does not typically suffer any deficiency compared to others of their breed.    While fairy dragons are not sterile, it is very rare for them to breed due to their maturity levels and physical stature.

Behavior

The behavior of fairy dragon variants is typical of their parent breed with an added mischievous streak. While the mischievous pucks cause a quite a large amount of trouble for those around them, they rarely cause true intentional harm, even with more aggressive breeds. Those who have worked with a fairy dragon note that their temperament and maturity seems to grow to that of a young dragon and holds there through the rest of the dragon's life.

Social

Fairy dragons are treated much the same as younger standard dragons. As other members of their clutch mature beyond their youth, the fairy dragon maintains their standing as a young dragon, which is how they will be treated for the remainder of their life. Older fairy dragons are rarely given more responsibility.
