Six's Hoarders Den

On the outskirts of Tel’Rhea, no more than a 10 minute walk from the “walls”, there is a cluster of fruit-bearing trees clustered so close together and in such great number that one can only see a crude winding path leading within and the leafy expanse of a much larger tree somewhere at the heart. The trees are lined with a myriad of fruit, creating a beautiful smattering of color. The orchard is alive with sound generated by its various inhabitants. At its heart, built around the entanglement of two large trees, is an old wooden building. And within that building… is the blood witch Six.

Six’s shop is embedded within an orchard of her own making. If she doesn’t want you there, then you’ll be permitted to wander through her orchard, but you’ll never find your way to the front door of her shop… only the exit. The people of Tel’Rhea often whisper about the old “crone” that lives within the confines of the charmed orchard. Few have been allowed to access the blood witch’s home.

Overview of Six's Shop

The exterior of Six’s shop resembles an elaborate conglomeration of tree houses shoved together, connected by walkways, stairs, ladders, and pulleys and levees that life someone up and down between the floors. Most of the tree houses are clustered around the massive trunk of a redwood tree (Home Tree) that stretches far upward towards the sky. A set of two tree houses are arranged around a smaller, but still impressive, tree (Bedroom Tree). Although primarily built of mismatching wood, it can be hard to tell as all of the buildings are buried underneath the natural growth of vines and flowers, various graffiti and other paintings, and other miscellaneous décor: wind chimes, dream catchers, statues, and various cat-themed décor.

The interior of Six's shop can be defined by the answer to one question: What does organization even mean? If Six, knows, she certainly doesn’t give that impression! Although the rooms themselves are generally organized: shop, kitchen, living room, bedroom, ritual room, and storage… that is the extent of Six’s organization. Every room is overflowing with trinkets, knick-knacks and an odd assortment of items that have no place being anywhere. Cutting up directly through the main shop floor is the massive trunk of Home tree.

The back wall of Six’s shop – if you can find a gap in all of her stuff – is covered with various tally marks. If asked, Six will reveal that it is the number of people she has helped. She’s competing with a good friend… though she hasn’t heard from them in some time.

In it’s own room down a winding hall from the shop is room that is surprisingly clear of Six’s ever-growing hoard. In the center of the room, resting on a pillow atop a pedestal is a giant tome bound in leather dyed a dark forest green. Stitched into the cover – in gold – is a hand with the palm open. Stitched in red is a single drop of blood. The tome is always kept bound and only opens when a drop of Six’s blood dripped onto the cover. For her grandmother, it was an ungodly shade of orange. For her mother, it was teal.

What color will it be next?

The Inhabitants

It is not uncommon to find Six’s porch and other open spaces overrun with various cats that are permitted to come and go inside the home and throughout the orchard as they please. Although some of these cats are normal cats… many of them seem a bit different. Feline Fowl are cats with bird-like features, possessing wings, a beak, and a feather-like tail. If you’re lucky, you may meet the small and elusive Mothcat. The cats often fetch trinkets and make deliveries on behalf of Six.

Six’s shop is also littered in Corvids who often deposit miscellaneous items of potential interest onto the porch of Six’s shop. In return, they are given “treats” as Six calls them. When the birds are not out scouting for trinkets of interest to bring Six, they often sit along the branches of Home Tree or Bedroom Tree and scream at whoever approaches before turning to one another. They are fully capable of mimicking human voices, so Six often uses them to send messages to people in Tel’Rhea.
