The Council of Eredet
When the Barrier formed, attention was drawn back to the worship of The One as the representation of unity and of the entire pantheon made whole. There was an influx of people from various regions that travelled to the religious community of Eredet on various pilgrimages. Many of these temporary travelers became permanent residents. As the "city" began to grow, so too did the demand for a more formal government.
After stepping down from his position as Grand Priest, Ihyesult formed the Council of Eredet to oversee all "mundane governing" affairs with the intention of permitting the Grand Priest to continue the more traditional, monastic way of life and to devote their time to religious affairs. The individuals who composed the first Council hailed from the "premier four" deities. The titles of "High Lord" and "High Lady" were not applied and, in fact, it is believed that the original council held no formal titles.
The Council of Eredet served as a governing body for the growing city of Eredet until 502 YAR, when it was replaced by The High Dremoran Council.
The Original Council of Eredet
Grand Priest Ihyesult
"From birth, we are part of The One, and the actions we take are expected to reflect this. A wall with loose stones cannot weather a storm. Only a wall cemented together can withstand the storms that lie beyond. The continued worship and dedication of the people is the cement of our society."
Ihyesult is most well known for creating the current Dremoran calendar and for promoting its implementation across the continent. After retiring from his position as Grand Priest – a title that, at the time, meant only a priest devoted to The One – he took a more active political role by forming and joining the Council of Eredet.
To this day, many believe that Ihyesult was the last Grand Priest to ever speak directly to The One. There are legends and myths that mention how the Grand Priest received secret, divine knowledge form The One. Upon his passing, he supposedly distributed this knowledge to the members of the original Council of Eredet. If these secrets exist... were they lost to time?
Kiera Hallal
Kiera was a native of Ah'Shal who originally travelled to the burgeoning religious community of Eredet to serve as an Acolyte there, overseeing the rights of the dead. Although she was known to be relatively quiet and reserved, she had a knack for detail and a glower that could scare off even th toughest warriors. The Seventh Key Mortuary is dedicated to her memory and the belief that she wore a talisman of 7 keys around her neck.
Fi-Fi-Fella-Fema Fowell
Fi-Fi-Fella-Fema (or Fema, for short) was a native of Elios who originally travelled to the burgeoning religious community of Eredet on a pilgrimage of knowledge and the arcane. Although quirky and often prone to tangents, she was well known for being able to take a "birds-eye view" of a problem, stepping back to provide ingenious solutions. The Fowell Observatory and Aviary at the University of Eredet is named after her.
Wisteria Rose
Wisteria was a native of Tel'Rhea who originally travelled to the burgeoning religious community of Eredet to support her daughter and then later, granddaughters. Gifted since birth with a green thumb and a love of nature, she was a grandmother to the land, the animals, and the people there. She was dedicated to the beauty of all forms of life. Today, there is a prominent statue of Wisteria in the Élet Nature & Wildlife Sanctuary.
Ghidoran, Once-Gold
Ghidoran was a native of Caliban who originally travelled to the burgeoning religious community of Eredet providing protection to a merchant caravan. His stoic and stern demeanor often put people on edge, but he found himself staying in Eredet to provide continue protection to the community, which ultimately led him to the Council. The Once-Gold Tea Lounge is one of the only places in Eredet that serves the unique blends of the Gold Dragon Clan.
