History
The half-drow son of the former Oracle Divine of Endora, Dearest Love, the upheaval of her departure marks his ancestry with disgrace. Abandoned to his father in the Underdark, in a city ruled by the faithful of the Spider Queen, he was marked as the lowliest of creatures until the day he was discarded once more-- this time given up to the Heralds of the Dawn as a young recruit. There he was taught the ways of bringing death swiftly to those marked by the Corruption - which by then the Heralds defined very, very broadly. He grew enslaved to this philosophy until he was one day swept from this life by Lyall Dawn, who took the young man into his home and family to try with Loeraica's help to heal the damage done by his rearing and bring him into the The Black Guard. Their success in this was... mixed. Scars carved young grow deep with time. An attempt to teach him how to relax sent him on an airship cruise that ended in disaster, with the ship plummeting down towards the world below as the VIPs on the ship were the target of an attempted kidnapping, and he was caught up in it. They evaded capture, and landed in Crypha, where he found his adoptive sister Phaedra Dawn by chance and they swiftly got involved in the war between Crypha and Dalvath. There, his beliefs were finally and truly tested, as he experienced the consequences and possibilities of choice out from the sheltering arm of a cult or family. During his time with what became the Morninglight Company, those beliefs were tested, strained... and finally broke, as in a moment of revelation he concluded that the Red Dawn's path would simply lead to a world that was dead, but saw that the mercy he had shown once had such vastly greater results than any death ever completed by his hand. The blades he held since his training were shattered, and he swore off ever using them again, rededicating himself to the Titan of Mercy, Forgiveness, and Redemption. After the Morninglight Company was evacuated from Crypha, he was separated from his sister for a time - who had, it turned out, had her own issues with Asra Dawn - and then at the Second Alliance, the Silver Flame attempted to murder him and the Company was broken. He fled the planet with the help of Sirius and his newly-discovered brother Hesperos, along with Severine, Tempest, and his lover Cinder and her brother Ash.They spent the next year in the stars, mostly working on the planet named Megopolis to uncover more information about Balocrypha and how to fight whatever he was - and gather weapons with which to fight the Silver Flame. With the help of Balocrypha's estranged son Damion, they accomplished both, and he grew closer with his lover as well, bringing her further away from her old path as a devotee of the Reaper and to his own. They returned to a wedding, and disaster, as Crypha's attempt to end the war crashed upon Dalvath and the counterstrike brought the sun down upon the wedding. As disaster rained down, Vrinn found Cinder - dead, murdered by her brother for betraying the Reaper's church, the Mark of the Reaper upon her brow. In a rage he hunted Ash down, brought him down and got him in a position of weakness... and then on the verge of getting his revenge, he looked down and truly saw the man there. A man who was taken at an early age, inducted into a cult, misled. Like he was. Like Cinder was. He could do naught but forgive Ash and walk away, ignoring the cries of his lover's killer to come back and finish him. As he knelt and stroked the hair from his lover's face, gazing down at her empty eyes, tears running down his face... a miracle occurred. Light awoke around him, and the caress of his fingers swept away the mark that kept her from the Life Titan's embrace. A reward - or a curse - for an act of mercy and forgiveness in the face of his own loss, as without him realizing he was chosen as a Paragon.
