Azure Ocean Trade Company

The Azure Ocean Trade Company, sometimes referred to only as "The Azure Company", is a vast monopoly which controls activity throughout The Great Azure Ocean. The Company directs trade along the eastern coast of Trast, the western coast of Iqari, and sponsors expeditions to chart the islands of the Great Azure Ocean in search of exploitable resources.
The Azure Company even governs a number of settlements. In these cases, rather than owning every enterprise, the company manages and taxes private business and vessels, providing accounting services and a standing guard force while siphoning a percentage of those taxes back to the company itself.
Officially, the Company condemns slavery. However, the Company allows their workers to take on so much debt that most of their pay will be held until the debt is paid, only providing enough for living necessities.
