    Demographics

Skipalon has the mix of races typical across Trast, though with a higher concentration of Tabaxi who have immigrated from the Salbour Archipelago.

    Government

The town is lead by its noble, Governor Rolen Eathalena, and his supporting council. He represents the Azure Ocean Trade Company, ruling the settlement as a Corporatocracy. All trade is privatized and legal -though not all are socially acceptable- and sufficiently taxed. These taxes support the town's infrastructure, as well as feeding back to the Company itself.

    Defences

Skipalon is your typical fortified town: the noble lives in his manor within the keep, a wall extends around the core of the town out to the shore, while the rest of the residences and minor businesses are built up outside the walls. As property of the Azure Company, the town is protected by company sponsored guards, though the majority of them are recruited locally.

    Industry & Trade

Skipalon is the hub for all trade in the region, transporting Voidiron mined from The Frosthorn, while shipping other amenities down to support the mining town. Some local farms operate around Skipalon, but most of the food is brought from further inland. Many more exotic amenities are imported from the Salbour Archipelago and Iqari.   Some local enchanters do commission work, as well as reselling artifacts discovered by explorers.

    Guilds and Factions

Bravery Post: The guild hall for local hunters, be it those who hunt monsters or bounties.   The Sisterhood Estate: Headquarters of The Sisterhood, a company of elite female mercenaries willing to take just about any job that can afford their services.   Pathfinders Sanctum: Guild hall for the Pathfinders - a group of nature guides, caravan escorts, and explorers.

    Geography

North of the town following the coast lays a vast forest. During the late summer of 589 PIC, the southern reaches of this forest became corrupted due to supernatural forces and decayed into a swamp. A freelance party of adventurers removed the source of the corruption, but the forest has not yet been fully purified nor restored.
By decree of Governor Rolen, young people not yet fit for a proper job may earn coin working as Criers, informing the townspeople of current events and putting rumors to rest.
