Pesco

Everything presented is subject to change as the adventuring party discovers hidden secrets.
A small, nearly indescript, fishing village with a scarce population. The environment of Pesco is lively, energetic, and extremely stressful. For some reason, the Empress has chosen this village to host her birthday celebration in 6 days, and the village is fit to burst from the sudden influx. Makeshift shacks, shops, stands, and other essential infrastructure is being built in preparation.   Zilfan Dapplefall, the Gnomish mayor, is very stressed and all over the place, fussing over this and that. Good luck getting to talk to him.

Industry & Trade

Most important export is fish. Bordered by two major rivers and the ocean, they have plenty of variety in what they can catch and provide to the rest of the Xentis Empire.   They can also provide wood via the forest and a few farms are present.

Points of interest

The local jail is rather small, only able to fit a few people at a time, as prisoners have to be transported to a larger city for an actual trial.   The port is quite large, though it has fallen into a state of major disrepair since its only occupants are fishing boats. This is being renovated at the moment.   The "Hook, Line, and Sleeper" Inn is rather small and most visitors have to stay in tents or makeshift accommodations.   The "Fryin' Triton" is run by a friendly Triton woman who is a lot less friendly now that the restaurant is constantly swamped by workers and regular customers alike. You'll find mostly fish-based dishes here.   If you're wanting to relax, "The Fish Bowl" is a bathhouse built along the adjacent river.   Of note is a large building a day's journey on a hill overlooking the village. Known as "Applefield Mansion," this is well-known for being haunted. During the day, this building is a burned-out husk of what it once was three hundred years ago. The trees out front are all dead and twisted, leaning toward the mansion. At night, however, the apple trees are in full bloom. The mansion stands tall and violin music plays from within, a melody that tragedy. Travel to this mansion is heavily restricted, as it has been deemed too dangerous to explore.

Geography

Bordered by a river to the north and the ocean to the east. Forest to the west.
