Dragons
Dragons are powerful beings which are typically recognized as the anti-theses of the deities. They are the eternal inhabitants of Eashavar, and have an inner desire to destroy all life upon it, viewing it as an abberation to the natural, desolate order of the world, before the arrival of the deities. Followers of The Prime Canon view dragons and deities as mortal enemies, while followers of The Green Way view dragons as necessary counter-balances, who are justifiably trying to preserve their way of life and who are deserving of respect, even if their attempts at destruction must be overridden.
Dragons are greatly powerful creatures - the Ones Above themselves could not exterminate them. They divide themselves naturally into Color-Flights, though differences between flights - as far as powers go - are unknown. It is believed that dragons have power over the elements, that they are masters of magic and the Warp, and that they are immortal, resurrecting as newborns should they ever be slain. Ever since the Age of Destruction, and the fall of Bach'thal, dragons have largely disappeared from Eashavar, hunted to near-extinction or slumber. Some believe that The Windy Country is the new homeland of the dragons, as its deadly weather calls to mind the elemental powers that have often accompanied the wrath of the dragonflights.
A few dragons have favorable associations among the mortal races. Among them, unrivaled, is Amros, who aided Delos'Nordan in defeating Bach'thal during The Silver War. Some revere the Silver Flight in general because of his actions, but the Silver Flight turned upon the High Elves near the end of the war, and remains hostile to life today.
Powers
Immortality
Dragons are not born, and they cannot die. When they are defeated, they lose their powers, but they will slowly come back as they feed upon arcana from outside the Material Plane. Even if one were to fully sever all parts of a dragon from each other, and move them to different corners of the world, they would gradually take on a life of their own and regrow until they could be reunited.Arcana
Dragons are said to be masters of raw arcana. Their coming is often affiliated with a plethora of natural disasters and elements of the Warp. They feast off of this arcana to gain their powers, and they fight each other to siphon this arcana from their brethren.Organization and Power
Color-Flights
Color-Flights are the basic organizational structure of dragons. Most dragons have a singular color, and they organize themselves in an internal hierarchy within dragons of a similar color. The machinations of this internal hierarchy are even more mysterious than inter-flight hierarchies. It's believed each flight has a matriarch or patriarch, or some set of matriarchs or patriarchs which are heavily related (as in the case of Yrvolth and Tyrrleigh). Flights do not appear to have any meaningful differences in the character of their abilities; dragons are dragons.Allies or Vassals?
Color-Flights have historically fought at certain points, banded together at others, and even seemed to serve each other in subservience. The distinction between the latter two is unclear. It's strongly believed that Kaszastrix was beneath Bach'thal in hierarchy, but the relationship between Kaszastrix and dragons such as Yrvolth and Tyrrleigh is less clear. In any case, such alliances and acts of servitude largely seem driven more by realpolitik than any actual connections or owed favors.Ritualistic Breeding
Dragons cannot reproduce. They are immortal creatures whose powers are merely lessened by wounds, but they can never be eradicated, and they can never be born. Sometimes, some talk of a "dragon's rebirth" in the context of one who was wholly stricken down only to regain his powers and rise once again to their former dominance. Despite this, it seems almost certain that dragons participate in some manner of "breeding" ritual. Delos'Nordanian annals from the time of Amros shed some light on this, but the most critical details come from an unusual source: Thalgor folklore. According to it, the act of breeding between dragons is merely an act of subservience and dominance, and not even one of pleasure for any party (a fact which The Bray-Mother is said to disdain). It is nonetheless consensual, as it cannot occur without the subservient party willingly playing their role. It's believed that Bach'thal's dominance over the other Color-Flights which served under him was the result of his breeding with their leadership. Notably, breeding does not occur within a singular Color-Flight, where it's believed different systems dominate to decide the hierarchy. One exception to this is the supposed breeding of Yrvolth and Tyrrleigh, but they represented a singular leader with equivalent powers at the time of their synchronous subservience within this ritual.
