King of Garon'd Blackstone
The noble son of Lord Harlow Blackstone, Vallis grew up wanting for nothing. With all the things at his disposal though, he was still bored with his life; he wanted more. His weapon instructors taught him everything they could, and when they were finished he killed them so no one would know how good he really was. He is the King of Garon'd and a Lord in his own right, yet the surviving heir to the throne could replace him should he fail to kill her. He is tall for a human, well over six feet and weighing around two hundred and eighty pounds. He had short black hair, deep black eyes and is usually dressed in vivid purple and white silks and a heavy winter cloak. He also has a set of gear armor that he can wear that is bronze and gold. His custom weapons sit on his hip and his two-handed sword hangs on his back like an old lover. His right hand was lost years ago and he has an Iron hand replacement rumored to have secrets built within.
Excerpt from the Gear Revolution
King Vallis Blackstone stood on the prow of his warship and smiled. His fleet had made fantastic time with his new engines and his weapons had performed amazingly well at Everloom. He had taken control of the forces and left his second in command to take the remaining cities under his rule. Unfortunately the girl had escaped his grasp and that had to be remedied. He was tall for being human, well over six feet and weighing at around two hundred and eighty pounds. He had short black hair, deep black eyes and was dressed in vivid purple and white silks and a heavy winter cloak. His custom weapons sat on his hip and his two-handed sword hung on his back like an old lover. He made a fist with his iron hand and relished the feel of the powerful weapon. He really didn't miss his hand at all. "Are the other ships ready captain?"
"All are in position your eminence."
"Good, the plan is to intimidate the elves, not win. When we start taking heavy damage, pull back." His plan would work, he just knew it.
"Surely we can...."
"Do as you're ordered man or you can try and fly home with your arms." He turned to Ravar Sans and frowned. "This time you will finish the job or I will conveniently forget to wind you again." He fingered the brass key that would only fit the man in front of him and silently thanked the Gods above that he had found it all those years ago.
Physical Description
Even at his age, Lord Vallis is in excellent condition. He works out regularly and trains diligently, knowing that any day they could come for him. His paranoia has led to a human that has reached almost peak performance, passed only by the Clockwork Assassins.
His right Iron hand is the most identifiable thing that sets him apart in a crowd. (See specialized below)
Lord Vallis had his right hand replaced by his own personal Gearsmiths. His new Iron Hand is stronger than a normal human because of the gearworks in the hand, and it also contains some interesting features that can't be discovered by normal inspection. The hand has 1500 ft of elven spider silk cord wrapped inside of it, able to be shot out with a tiny obsidian collapsible hook. This hook is damn near indestructible and the spidersilk can hold not only his weight, but another 200 lbs combined. he can hit a switch on the wrist and have it wind back up with a tiny engine inside that is wound up ahead of time by a tiny lever that pulls out of the back. Once cranked, the engine starts when the button is hit and lasts long enough for a one shot wind up to carry him or let him down. The hand also has an iron spike that can be released with another switch on the wrist, coming out of the wrist like a dagger.
Mental characteristics
Vallis's personal history is clouded in denial. His early years are a matter of public record, and seems normal by all accounts for someone of his station. Bored child, wealthy family, lots of balls and galas, the normal. Then when the young lord became an adult the records started to be lost and erased. In 745 a young Lord Vallis was in Syll hunting with Jaspen Kline, a fellow noble and lifelong friend, when his hunting party was ambushed by an elven protest group. They were protesting the hunting of the Kemin, an elven hunting cat and had come armed to make their point. What if the hunter became the hunted. What ensued was a bloodbath. The elves never expected these young upstart lords to actually be good fighters, and Vallis killed every elf that came at him. In the end though it wasn't the elves that got him. It was his trust. Jaspen had set him up. He lost his right hand in that exchange, yet still walked away with his life, while his lifelong friend did not. Vallis was the only survivor and when asked he fabricated the hatred of the elves when in reality he had killed even his own retainers to hide his prowess and the betrayal of his friend.
His lifelong friend betraying him broke something fundamental in him. While he was always a little wicked inside, this event brought forward the massive distrust that has made him the warlord he is today.
Very intelligent and logical in his tactics. Known for thinking on his feet in any situation.
Personality Characteristics
Lord Vallis dreams of uniting the four nations under his tyrannical rule. He wants everyone to bow to him so he can finally rest, thinking that once this happens he will be rid of his distrust, little does he know this will never go away.
As the Lord of the Blackstone family he has access to their unbelievable wealth and answers to no one.

Making Enemies
When Vallis ascended to the throne of Garon'd he cut all ties with the Gearsmith guild, even transferring his contracts to a private dealer (whom no one could find by the way) and earned the guilds animosity. When he openly attacked the nation of Anor with brand new weapons that were built by rogue gearsmiths the guild openly disavowed him and the entire Blackstone family.
