Teryk
Teryk is the capital of Kovacs Duchy in central Karrnath. It has a population on 52,000 citizens, mostly human and khoravar, but also has a sizable dwarven population. It is ruled by Duke Kirill ir'Kovacs. The local garrison is headed by Maj. Weylin Cannith, with captains Aron ir'Novak and Harold Dunsmith administering daily operations.
Teryk's main economic activity is manufacturing and food production, with a paper mill, a slaughterhouse and a canning factory being the main employers in the city. The Dol Arrah district is home to many temples as well as a House Jorasco hospital. Kingstown is the most popular district, where blue collar and factory workers mostly live. Service employees and the middle class tend to live in Bloomsbury, where some military housing is also available. The gated High Rise community is reserved for aristocrats and wealthy merchants. Most dwarven Terykians have elected to live in a part of Bloomsbury they named Korn Faldur. In the middle of the popular districts is Kaius Park, a peaceful, well-groomed natural space frequented by all.
Teryk itself is a relatively safe city when compared to larger ones like Korth or Karrlakton, but it isn't without its criminal element. Isolated alleyways in Kingstown are not particularly welcoming, especially for those who risk venturing out after curfew. Patrols are often stretched thin and cutpurses sneaky enough to avoid them often get their prize. Monsters occasionally emerge out of Shadowmount Forest and approach the city walls, making curfew enforcement particularly stringent, although monster attacks aren't as frequent as in cities closer to the Mournland.
