Session 25: Aboard the Lyrandan Airship

General Summary

Last Day in Sharn

• The Crypt Crew met in Philip's house one final time before departing for the city. The group discussed how they spent their week, Philip: he acquired survival supplies for everyone, including rations, tents, blankets, and other gear.
• Philip also told the crew that Alice had requested that her successful potions, the culmination of decades worth of work, be given to the Crew for their upcoming harrowing journey, as she and her grandchildren set off for Wroat, Breland until the tensions with Droaam deescalated.
• Philip also shared that he had withdrawn funds from his retirement fund in order to acquire the materials necessary to cast the Revivify spell once, which has the capability to return someone from death once.
• The Clifftop Adventurer's Guild had prepared a sending-off ceremony for the Crypt Crew, wishing them the best of luck.
• Torfe reminded them of their primary goals: gather information of the border, create a map, return to Sharn, and form a plan of attack to infiltrate the country itself. In addition, he gave some items to the Crypt Crew as a parting gift.

The Eye of the Storm

• The Lyrandan airship, the Eye of the Storm model, made it quite obvious that Torfe and the guild had spared no expense. Fully stocked with provisions, a well-prepared staff, and even a pegasus to recover any who fall.
• Its captain, Tannoch, was a traditionalist Lyrandan. He was raised on the seas, which was the original purpose and industry of House Lyrandar. He shared tales and shanties with the Crypt Crew, and enjoyed the stock of spirits and rum that the ship had.
• Maleakos, with the help of the old gnomish repairman, managed to affix old Smoke's head to the bow of the Eye of the Storm. Smoke was always stuck in the same factory for his entire existence, but always wondered what the world was like, and what it all meant. With this incredible gift, he would now be able to see the world from a magnificent view, and ponder existence to his heart's content.
• Ashpin was visited by Brucos, who had a nice conversation with him. Afterwards, the Crypt Crew had a discussion about whether or not the town of Ardev, Breland should be helped, as Brucos said the Crypt Crew need be back in Sharn by mid-Therendor if they wanted to prevent something terrible from happening.
• On the last day of the journey, trouble brewed. A heavy storm rushed in, and with it, the S.S. Thunderkocra, a pirate ship manned by experienced aarakocras and their newly recruited grung grunts. An airborne assault ensued, with the Thunderkocra eventually ramming into the Eye of the Storm. Tannoch and Ashpin leapt into the enemy ship, and slayed everyone who remained.
• The Thunderkocra proved bountiful in loot, including magical items, potions, and art pieces, though there was lasting damage to the Eye of the Storm.
