CITY HONORS THE CRYPT CREW IN REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY
25 Zarantyr, 998 YK
On behalf of the entire city of Sharn, the Sharn Council held a ceremony to honor the lives lost in the Tragedy of Lower Northedge. The total death count was 102. 102 innocent lives lost in a senseless attack by a nation in a ghost war with Breland (see page 2). A special ceremony was held for the brave Sharn Watchers that lost their lives defending out city.
But the ceremony was not only a time to grieve, but also to celebrate. The peculiar group known as the Crypt Crew was exalted for their deeds, both in the Tragedy and in previously unknown events. A humanoid trafficker and participant in illegal humanoid experimentation known as Shiksu was defeated by the Crypt Crew, saving the lives of innocent warforged and even freeing a hostage House Orien lightning rail in the process.
These deeds and more earned each of them a Golden Cog, one of the highest honors the city can bestow upon a hero. Never before has it been bestowed upon a non-native Sharnite, let alone 5. But it was clear to the council, and the city, that these confusing and uncertain times call for unusual circumstances. One can only wonder what heroics the Crypt Crew are up to now.
Remarkably, while receiving the Cog, each Crypt Crew member expelled a colored ripple of energy, each of which united into a silver dragon, reportedly speaking the words, "The Silver Flame calls upon a Chosen Six." What is the meaning of this dragon? Was this a mere stunt to enhance the spectacle of the ceremony? Or does the Silver Flame mean more to the Crypt Crew than meets the public eye?

DROAAM CLAIMS MORE TERRITORY
Western Breland is slowly shrinking. The nation to the west, Droaam, is further expanding its territories. Recent reports indicate that Droaam may have claimed land as much as 25-30 miles inwards of Breland, absorbing small farming communities along the way. The fate of these communities remains unknown.
King Boranel ir'Wynarn has yet to release a statement on the recent approaches of Droaam. The King no doubt faces a difficult decision reflecting upon his policy of peace - as he was the primary proponent of the Treaty of Thronehold - but inaction is a temporary solution that cannot be maintained indefinitely. Sooner or later, something must be done.
The threat of the monstrous nation continues to slowly draw further. As it does, we can only wonder - will any answer the call?
