The Broken Tusk

The door to the tavern creaks as you push it open, revealing a dimly lit room filled with the sounds of raucous laughter and clinking glasses. The air is thick with the scent of sweat and stale ale, and the only light comes from a few flickering candles scattered throughout the room.   A motley crew of orcs, goblins, and half-orcs are scattered throughout the room, some playing dice games in the corner while others loudly argue over a game of darts. A burly half-orc behind the bar glares at you suspiciously as you enter, wiping down a mug with a stained rag.   The walls are adorned with faded paintings of ancient orcs and goblin heroes, and there's a large wooden stage in the corner where a band of minstrels plays music with an off-tune fiddle and a battered lute. A few patrons sway drunkenly to the music, while others shout bawdy songs at the top of their lungs.   Despite the rough exterior of the patrons, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, with many locals offering to buy drinks and strike up conversation with newcomers. You get the sense that this tavern is a popular haunt for the working-class dragonmarked miners of House Tharashk, a place where they come to unwind after a hard day's work in the mines.
The tavern is run by a half-orc woman named Grukka, who inherited it from her father. She's tough and no-nonsense, but has a soft spot for her regulars. The cook is a goblin named Snik who is surprisingly skilled in the kitchen and known for his hearty stews and savory pies. The servers are a mix of orcs, half-orcs, and goblins who work hard for their pay and aren't afraid to throw out rowdy customers if necessary.
