Hilt County
Its militaristic name is no misnomer, almost more a naval district than a County, the two 'Counts' of the county are the commanders of Torch and Flint Keeps, and have the special title of Commodore. Each commands an elite battalion of anti-piracy marines, as well as large naval reserves docked within their walled harbors. These serve as the home bases of Breland's impressive "brown-water navy" specializing in the rivers and shallows around the Hilt's depths and the deeper waters of the Thunder Sea. The Brelish Royal Navy consistently directs its Commodores to appoint retired admirals to their county's parliament seat, typically assuring the seat for the Royalist party. True to form, it is a seat currently held by the Royalist human Admiral Tars ir'Kade, known to be a fairly centrist political figure for the Royalist party, his membership born largely from his personal loyalty to King Boranel ir'Wynarn, and it is suspected he would join with other Liberals in further splintering what was historically the only opposition to the Royalist party.
