The Blockade
Hilt County's Royalist leadership signed a Pledge of Loyalty in the first week of the Ceasefire of Eyre, and the Blockade took shape in the weeks after.
Now reorganized formally as a naval district rather than a County, the two Commodores of the county are the commanders of Torch and Flint Keeps and have sworn allegiance to Admiral Tars ir'Kade, to serve loyally to King Boranel ir'Wynarn personally, as Hilt County's pledge of Loyalty so uniquely declared. Each commands an elite battalion of anti-piracy marines, as well as large naval reserves docked within their walled harbors. These serve as the home bases of Breland's impressive "brown-water navy" specializing in the rivers and shallows around the Hilt's depths and the deeper waters of the Thunder Sea.
Known to be a fairly centrist political figure for the Royalist party, his membership born largely from his personal loyalty to King Boranel ir'Wynarn, and it is suspected he would join with other Liberals in further splintering what was historically the only opposition to the Royalist party.
