Bretscotch family (Bret-scotch)

The Bretscotch family is the noble family of the city of Mantlemine in the Montane Flat. By birthright, the head of the family is the governor of Mantlemine, and this delicate position is protected by a treaty between the Ruthorian Empire and Mantlemine. The treaty states that Mantlemine is free to create their own laws and is not required to enforce laws set by the church of Erathis (though they are still required to collect taxes on behalf of the Empire as if they were a Ruthorian noble house). If the Bretsctoch family would to fall out of power, this treaty would be void, subjecting Mantlemine to the whims of the Church (which is not something they want).

Public Agenda

To maintain their position of power in Mantlemine. It is rumored that they are incredibly corrupt, and take multiple bribes from the city's many criminal gangs.
