House Rainguard (Rain-guard)

House Rainguard is the southernmost Ruthorian noble house, being in Southern Ruthoria. It is known for the city Argen's Gate, which defends the Ruthorian Empire from the mutated beasts of the Field of Many Colors with its Rainwall. It is also known for its eccentric leader, Oolmoy Rainguard.

Structure

All Ruthorian noble houses have a familial hierarchy, with the eldest member of the noble family holding power (unless they are deemed unfit to do so, like if they are going senile in old age). One cannot marry into power within a noble family even if they are the oldest, as they have no noble blood. As long as one of a child's parents has noble blood in them, they are considered viable for power within the family. A member who has been disowned cannot claim power.

Culture

House Rainguard garners a band reputation for its leader's lifestyle, that of hedonism. However, the house more than makes up for this with its ability to protect the Ruthorian Empire from the mutated beasts of the Field of Many Colors.

Public Agenda

To keep whatever monsters lurk in the Field of Many Colors out of the Ruthorian Empire. Oolmoy also occasionally throws extravagant parties for both domestic and foreign nobility when he feels up to it. These parties are tolerated by the Church of Erathis and the Empire at large because they are a useful tool for creating ties in foreign lands, something the Empire is not willing to do openly due to the perceived cultural inferiority among other peoples.
