Geography

The sprawls of Myrsin in host to all manner of cold climates, from the boreal forest in its northwestern section, the uninhabited tundra in the center of the land and sprawling upwards, and a unique boreal rainforest on the eastern side of the Tesdja cliffs. As the ground slopes downwards the rainforest gives way to a marsh, where the border to Adoloto sits. Conversely, the western forest transitions area between a temperate forest and grassland, where the westward river borders Surrakh.
Landmarks
in the heart of the taiga is a large river basin where many people reside, and roads branch downwards and westwards. The most notable being Wayward Journey which the trade route borders the top edge of Moratash and travels through the cliffs to the island of Crucible. The mountains are host to volcanic activity from its signature Cracked Maw volcano, as well as many hydrothermal vents far below the surface in the aquifers that sit underneath the eastern half of the continent. Towns
The predominant faction in the region is called Andyne (which most of this document will focus on), and has town in the basin -such as the capital Ranunca and Arucia- as well as the island Crucible far to the east. Other settlements do not proclaim themselves as part of Andyne, such as Gilia, the home to the Marblebreakers and the treetop community of Striata in Vercosa

Culture

The majority of culture is based on Andyne ways (even those with no political affiliation), with a focus on efficiency and structure. Many of its holidays and festivals revolve around either using the last of foods before the spoil, or donating them to The Conclave as acts of goodwill. Celebrations are held at the beginning of spring at the sight of the first bloom, as well as days of remembrances towards autumn, to pay gratitude to all those passed who passed to facilitate their way of life; all, including people, livestock, farmed plants, and nature at large.
Government
Andyne runs under a Theocratic Oligarchy, with 24 members of an organization called The Conclave making decisions for the wellbeing of the nation. These people are appointed for life and by the person they are succeeding , with exception of the monarch, who is appointed by The Conclave and acts as their speaker and face of their government.
Food and Art
Most food made are large hardy meals designed to feed a large number of people and very well. Stews and casseroles are popular, as well as preserved imported fruits and cured meats. Those westward commonly have a staple of mutton as their main protein, while Striatans have many soups and broth made from the sinuous tissue of Ironfang bats. There are many places with staple dishes of vegetables, however many of them break tradition and stick with light meals. Foraged salads being popular near the coast of Satu'opu Cove, and the Crucible in Vercosa sports many spiced sauces and glazes over sandwiches and pastas.   Art varies wildly from region to region, and will go into greater detail in the sub articles. The main form of Andyne, and the majority of people living in the region participating in two major forms of expression, embroidery and mosaics. embroidery is predominately a form of self expression, in abstract lines and patterns, while Mosaics are a commonly used status symbol and memorial site. Mosiacs on a person's home could be of the head of a household, an influential figure, the landscape of a battle they had a major influence in, or a portrait to a lost loved one.
Religion
The predominant religion is Involucratisim, which is what Andyne adheres do and enforces. Its teachings say that all of the gods are just and good, save for Akhard, the god of magic. who acts as the progenitor of sin, and teaches mankind how to do evil through the guise of magic. In this context, the gods are seen as those in the background, where the demigods are present instead to enact their will in their place. The more moderate approach is New Involucratisim practiced predominately in Vesco, instead paints Akhard (and those who practice magic) as Martyrs, and magic is a necessary evil and those who practice it are seen as sacrifices, and are taken care of by the community around them for making the sacrifice. This new approach is not liked by the Conclave, and is frowned upon in any Andyne settlement.
Population
Andyne is a large settlement with many people under its banner, though the entire nation ranks about average in terms of total population. Many of the people act as government sponsored researchers, and many others still are part of Myrsin's large standing military. Those not affiliated with Andyne have more commercial or personal job focuses, such as Gilia focusing on mining and the processing of those materials, or Striatans large band hunters and gatherers to feed their unique civilization.
Anti Magic Areas
As stated above, the entire area of Myrsin has dotted along its surface and running below, areas of anti-magic arbitrarily created and springing up without warning. This is a list of the most notable ones in the region: the lower floors of Arucia (otherwise known as "The Compound"), the municipal district of Leucomb, the bridge connecting Crucible to the rest of Myrsin, and many along the borders of Moratash.
