The Isle of Strength
A small island in the ocean, located between Atalanta and Magnum Opus, situated on an inactive volcanos caldera. Humble yet hardy people live there, and the population is renowned for their innate physical strength, as the mana-rich spring waters that have filled into the Caldera enhance their natural abilities.
Whether it's physical power, magical potential, or natural charisma, the people of The Isle of Strength believe in just that, individual Strength. As such, many of them are also incredibly physically fit, due to the abundance of trainers on the island along with a mineral and nutrient-rich diet from the local wildlife and fish.
While it technically follows the same rules of governance as Atalantan cities, the way it's run is very unique, and it's almost a nation all its own, except in the legal sense. They handle their own trade system, markets, infrastructure, and agriculture industries.
Legally, they're a part of the territory of Paris rather than their own country.
Demographics
Most of the island is of Human or Orcish descent, but there are a smattering of Elves and Dwarves as well, mostly immigrants from Magnum Opus.
Government
The Isle of Strength is one homogenous city, and is governed by Senator Johannes Joplenni. While the position of Senator is elected as normal, the Joplenni family are the ones who typically take the position, as they are the strongest and most respected family on the island.
Defences
The choppy waters and sharp rocks of the Islands shore make for a good defense against unwanted guests, along with the old tower stations on the outskirts of the island, and the strong warriors within.
Industry & Trade
The Isle of Strength's greatest asset is its naturally enriched waters, crops, and fish when it comes to the world trade market. However, many would consider the strong and honorable warriors the culture of the Island breeds to be its truest export, as warriors from The Isle of Strength are legendary. For the island's populace, the most frequent businesses are martial arts temples, along with various adventurers gear shops and crafters.
Infrastructure
The Island does have modern plumbing and arcane power systems, although the systems are a few decades behind larger cities. Furthermore, the city mostly thrives off of less complex yet more difficult systems for constant training.
Architecture
The architecture of the island utilizes stone mostly but also incorporates sloping, angular roofs with colored shingles to differentiate buildings.
Natural Resources
The natural spring water and fertile soil within the now-inactive caldera are what gives The Isle of Strength it's enriching properties, and provides a healthy and strong life for its residents.
