Tinyman
Tinymen, also commonly known as fairies, are a race of godkin featuring wings, pointed ears, and an extremely short height. They are well known throughout the Eternal Fields, often playing part within the myths and legends of various groups of men, although few can truly say that they have met one.
Homeland
Main Article: Sizern Islands Tinymen originally hail from Earth, where they were widespread across the field. Sightings of and encounters with tinymen introduced themselves as part of the culture and mythology of many groups of humans and the men who came before them. Tales of fairies and other similar creatures proliferate throughout the Eternal Fields, spread by various groups of fieldal men. This could be seen as possible evidence of the existence of fairies outside of Earth and Maji, but is equally likely to just be tales passed down from a long ago era in which all men resided on Earth. Tinymen eventually migrated to Maji along with many other races of godkin. Upon arriving on Maji, they occupied various regions across the Dragonlands for some time before migrating across the Great Sea with the elves. They eventually came to reside on the Sizern Islands, with small populations remaining on Torlos and Togayung. The Sizern Islands are a series of islands North of Togayung, stretching from the subtropic to the far North, into the arctic. The sea within the bounds of the islands is known as the Sizern Sea. The islands are generally considered to be widely forested, whether that be the subtropical forests of the Southern islands, or the taiga forests on the Northern islands. Due to their deep relationship and reliance on nature, specifically insects and arachnids, the tinymen typically prefer to reside on the Southern islands, although recent circumstances have caused them to become uninhabitable, forcing the tinymen North, where they wouldn't normally be found.Description
The most obvious and recognizable characteristic of the tinymen is their short stature, usually only being around six inches in height on average. They possess wings, similarly to angels. Unlike angels however, the wings of tinymen are much more insect-like than the feathered wings of angels. They also feature pointed ears, like that of both angels and elves. The skin color of tinymen ranges from a darker brown to a light tan. Their hair color has a similar range of colors. Both of these features make them somewhat resemble that of Wood Elves. To pair with their extremely short height, tinymen also have a very short lifespan, compared to that of other godkin. Normally, tinymen only live to around twenty years old on average. This fact has had a significant impact on their culture, stunting their growth as a society.Culture
The tinymen's extremely short height and lifespan have both had a considerable effect on their culture. Their height has made the efficient harvesting for resources, such as metals, very difficult and as such, the tinymen as a society have never advanced past stone age level technology, still relying on wooden spears and stone tools to this day. Weapons, tools, and armor made from anything but basic materials are extremely rare among tinymen. Their short height has also affected their ability to domesticate larges animals, such as cows, horses, or even dogs, and instead they domesticate small animals, such as rodents, reptiles, and insects. Insects, along with arachnids and other arthropods, are especially important as the colonies and structures constructed by these creatures serve as the homes and cities of tinymen. The short lifespan of the tinymen has resulted in a very philosophical society. Life only seems to have enough time to grow, build a family, and leave this world. Most tinymen are rarely left with enough time in their lives to pursue anything of significant importance, causing many tinymen to have a depressive and unhopeful outlook on life. Tinymen philosophers spend serious time pondering the true meaning of life with feverish intensity.Religion
Most tinymen do not regard religion as an important aspect of their lives. Many simply do not have enough time within their lives to dedicate to religion. Instead, they often value the nature around them in a similar way to how others would value their gods. This makes sense, as every aspect of a tinyman's life is given to them by nature; the clothing and tools they use being crafted by natural materials and their homes and cities being built by insects. This idea that nature is supreme is further shown by the fact that, due to their small size, storms and other natural phenomenon that others would deem insignificant, such as rain or strong winds, can be devastating to tinymen, completely destroying cities and possibly even taking lives.Tinyman Names
