Warpwood
The trees that have evolved to survive the chaotic environment in the Desolation. These twisted and strangely shaped trees only grow and survive within the bounds of the desolation. Each tree produces a mixture of leaves from a different variety of trees. Groves of Warpwood can be found across the Desolation and may come and go at surprising speed. The nature of Warpwood interacts with the Desolation itself increases the unpredictability of the area. Groves have been known to create warp storms and change the Desolation around it. Osman shamans and pathfinders have been rumored to use groves of the trees for their magic and rituals including moving whole caravans from grove to grove.
Warpwood is the primary construction material available in the Desolation and what the Osman use to build their caravans. It is highly resistant to the harsh environment the Osman thrives in and when inside the Desolation it does not seem to age or rot.
Gathering Warp wood can be dangerous and is best left to skilled harvesters. Not only does the tree itself interact with the environment around it in seemingly unpredictable ways a grove of Warpwood attracts some of the wild beasts that live in the Desolation especially the Glimmer Panther. Warpwood craftsmen have been able to use the material to create all number of wondrous items, especially wands and staffs that are more powerful than their normal counterparts. The only downside is that warpwood rots at an alarming rate outside the Desolation and only a few mages have found methods to slow the process.
