Ebium
"Perhaps there is little glory to be found in the pursuit of knowledge, but if one wants to build a better world, for everyone or even just for oneself, it is necessary all the same."Ebium to Nenrë
Ebium, the Bookbinder, is the god of knowledge. It was he who first taught man to learn and seek out knowledge for himself. Before the rise of man, he traveled around the material plane, observing all he could, inventing symbols which he scratched into tree bark to document his findings. He was a scholar before the written word existed—for that was his eventual invention as well. When humanoid settlements began to spring up around Ekaia, he was excited to see potential others with whom to share his knowledge, and in doing so he found there was much to be learned from them as well. His followers teach that acquiring knowledge about the world is the surest way to become closer to Evendur, as anything that is true points towards him, and therefore all learning and all understanding ultimately teaches about and leads to him. Ebium is usually portrayed as a middle-aged human man in a white robe covered in words and symbols, wearing a distinctive corolla of gold.
Ebium is also frequently referred to by the name Menendar.
