Highcrest

Highcrest was a city in the Ulith region of Gaulvista. It is a knot of political tension, shaky race relations, and criminal syndicates. It was last governed by Lord Zarmir Alathiessa. Lord Zarmir surrendered to the nightbringer invaders during the Desolation of Gaulvista and the city remained under drow control for several years after the end of the Eventide.

History

Highcrest is built around Greywall Tower, the home of the famed half-elf wizard Indrina Savoy. The town started small, but grew in size and prosperity. It is currently under the rule of Lord Zarmir Alathiessa, who taxes his citizens heavily, shows extreme prelation for the elves of the city, and regularly fails to address problems. Under his rule the economy has suffered greatly and crime rates have skyrocketed. A rebellion broke out in the EL 990s to challenge Alathiessa for leadership of Highcrest, persistent but largely ineffective.
