Temple to Kishike in Prestir
The temple to Kishike in Prestir is the center of the Clerical Order of Kishike and the largest Kishikean temple in the world. It is home to the Kindler, the leader of the order, and the Pyre of Zanmorn, a fire that has been kept burning since the end of the Great Shadow.
Purpose / Function
The temple is home to about 550 priests, acolytes, and clerics at any given time. It provides living quarters for them, as well as spaces for prayer, meditation, and study.
Architecture
The temple's construction was conducted largely by mountain dwarves, which were rare in the area at the time, but the architectural plans were made by native Jeltiri humans. The intent of the plans was to create a timeless, mulicultural style. The stonework has been universally praised, and the level of success in this goal has received differing evaluations, but all agree that the temple's grandeur gives proper praise to Evendur and Kishike. It is well-fortified and in times of conflict has always been a safe haven.
History
Construction began in EC 3951 and was completed about two centuries later. An addition was later made in EL 40-42 to create more space as the following had grown significantly in the wake of the Great Shadow.
